The
Schwebebahn - a monument?
The suspension railway was from beginning to
a very advanced building. At the time it was more or less the
most modern one what one could fancy. Since existence of the suspension railway there were
engineering renewals and improvement over and over again. This appears clearly
in the different car rows. But also the railway stations were changed, thus,
e.g., the railway station the mountain Döppers which was anew opened already in 1926 because old
was not suitable for the big passenger's figures. Also the removal of the B 7 and
the new building of the A 46 strong changes required in the suspension railway. Thus
the jetztige removal is not, actually, so unusually for the history of
the suspension railway, she comes just again on the moderstensten state of the technology.
Importantly is present that some especially nice old railway
stations are preserved in her outlines, the new railway stations on the
Barmer distance have, for instance, also open roofs. But some new railway stations are also nicer and
brighter
than her predecessors were it.
